Carson Dispatch

Carson City Dispatch Center is responsible for receiving and disseminating all calls for service, both emergency and non-emergency. Our dispatchers are employees of the Sheriff's Office and provide dispatching services for public safety agencies in Carson City.

Firefighters Association

The Carson City Firefighters Association Local #2251 of the International Association of Fire Fighters represents firefighters and paramedics of the Carson City Fire Department. Fire Stations

Carson City is served by three fire stations, each operating within a specific geographic fire district. Station 1, built in 1995, serves the central part of the city. Stations 2 and 3 were built in 1974 and provide service to the northern and southern parts of the city, respectively.

History

The heritage of the Carson City Fire Department dates to 1863. From 1863 to 1964, the fire department was all volunteer in nature. In 1964, the department converted to a mix of volunteers and paid firefighters. The Carson City Fire Department traces its roots back to the time of America's Civil War with the formation of Warren Engine Company No. 1.
